Privacy Policy
This policy explains how FieldApp handles your data. Updated 25 September 2026 for version 1.2.
Summary
FieldApp stores fieldwork on your device. It requires no account, has no advertising or analytics service, and does not upload your records to servers operated by us.
What data FieldApp stores
The content you enter includes campaigns, sample sets, samples, notes, measurements, dates, photographs, audio recordings and locations. FieldApp stores this content locally using Apple technologies. Photos and recordings remain associated with the sample where you added them.
Exports and backups
When you export or create a backup, FieldApp produces files containing the records and attachments you selected. You choose their destination, such as Files, AirDrop or email. Those copies are handled by the destination you choose and are outside FieldApp’s control. Apple device backups are governed by your device and Apple account settings.
Retention and deletion
Your records remain in FieldApp until you delete them. You can delete recordings, photos, samples, sample sets or campaigns within the app. Manage exported files and backup copies separately wherever they were saved. Before deleting the app, create and verify a backup of any fieldwork you wish to keep.
Connectivity and third parties
FieldApp works offline. Network activity associated with sharing, opening the privacy-policy page or contacting support occurs when you choose those actions. The destination service’s own privacy terms apply to the information you send it. We do not receive your fieldwork unless you deliberately send it to us, for example as part of a support request.
Permissions
FieldApp uses the camera when you choose to take a photo, the microphone when you choose to record audio, and location services when you request coordinates. Photo-library selection lets you choose the images to attach. You can manage available permissions in iOS Settings.
Children
FieldApp is a general-purpose field-data collection tool and is not directed specifically at children. Educators and guardians should supervise use where appropriate.
